Cathy King

Cathy King originally trained as a teacher but has now focused on her earlier interests in painting, drawing and printing. The Devon- based printmaker is inspired by natural environment, in particular the landscape and coastline of Devon. Her chosen print methods are linocuts, collagraphs and monoprints, favoring each of them for their individual qualities. The use of line and form are central to her work and color is used carefully to balance the composition and design of the print.

More of her work can be viewed on her website and on Facebook.

Stefaan de Croock

Stefaan de Croock, a Belgium painter and sculptor creates wall sculptures made entirely from reclaimed wooden panels, doors, and furniture.  His murals adorn various buildings in Belgium deliberately choosing locations pertinent to the each design such as the side of an old furniture factory. His training and experience as a graphic designer puts a clear mark on his artistic vision.  In Facebook he says this about his work:

“My drawings and murals are populated by urban influences, but I combine them with organic forms and lines. My artworks are a combination of improvisation and construction. Spontaneity is very important in my work.”

Jennifer Plott

Admiring the stunning embroidery work of textile artist Jennifer Plott.  The Santa Maria, California-based artist is  completely self-taught with no artistic training or education at all.  Her work uses simple symmetrical shapes and patterns adding nature in her recent designs.  On an article in Ballpitmag she says this about her inspiration:

“I am most often inspired by nature. I am fascinated by trees (especially bare branches). In the past year or so, I’ve been getting more and more interested in stitching floral designs. At the same time, I am equally fascinated by creating geometric patterns and abstract designs. I am inspired by beautiful textiles and fabrics. I find ideas for color schemes in so many places. Literally everywhere I go! I’m always trying to pay attention so I don’t miss out on something inspiring.”

The artist can be followed on Instagram and a few of her items can be purchased in her Etsy shop, SeasideFoxArtwork.
