Kyle Bean

KyleBeanIntrigued by the hand crafted models of illustrator, art director and maker, Kyle Bean. He uses a wide range of materials in creating installations, window displays, editorial illustration and advertising. A line in his bio clarifies much of his work:

“Kyle’s work is usually characterised by a whimsical and meticulous reappropriation of everyday materials and handcrafted techniques.”

Tripasai Architect

Tripasai-ArchitectPegboards has a new function for me now after seeing this embroidered wall decor created by multi-disciplinary design studio, Tripasai Architect.  The wall is a series of tiny dots embroidered with colorful cotton yarn in rhomboidal shapes transforming into leaves and flowers. The walls enhance the entry lobby of a Bangkok private residence.

George Korsmit

GeorgeKorsmitThis colorful geometric floor pattern aptly entitled, “Here I Am”, was created by Dutch painter, George Korsmit. It was commissioned for the Regional Training Center in Almelo, Netherlands.  Much of the artist’s paintings, sculptures and installations are built up of irregular patches of color whose arrangements are determined by control and chance. It makes for a hypnotizing effect which is what the artist aims for in his work.
