Summer Snow

SummerSnowFound this brand, Summer Snow, searching the product portfolios on Japanese site, Loftwork. Don’t know too much about the artists/designers but we do know that we like their work enormously. They cut out the best parts of discarded clothing and create these wonderful patches that are then attached to t-shirts and sweatshirts.

Yuko Tobo

YukoToboA friend of mine gifted me with a scarf similar to these but made from vintage kimono fabric.  Been wanting to make one so we’re adding patchwork scarves to our project list. The colorful scarves shown above are the creations of Japanese clothing designer, Yuko Tobo, who also creates a line of bags that can be seen on her website and also here on her blog.

Yumi Okita

Yumi-OkitaThese stunning moth and butterfly sculptures are the creations of Japanese textile artist, Yumi Okita. The North Carolina-based designer creates these large pieces using different materials – cotton, feather, faux fur, embroidery thread and painted fabric. The pieces are sold here in her Etsy shop, which is currently showing a sculpted poppy that may be the start of a botanical series. Anxious to see her impending creations.
