Taku Bannai

Love the feeling of open space and solitude in these very peaceful minimalist illustrations by Japanese artist Taku Bannai.  Born in Tokyo the artist graduated from Tama Art University and MJ Illustration School.  His illustrations are collaged together using colored paper cut into simple figures and scenes.  The texture and layering of the different papers gives his work a deep fragile quality. You can follow the artist on his website, Behance and Instagram.

Irma Gruenholz

Irma Gruenholz is a three dimensional illustrator based in Madrid, Spain. She creates portraits and still lifes using a variety of materials including modeling clay and plasticine to achieve different effects. Her clay illustrations come in a variety of sizes but we are focusing today on these tiny clay accessories of a whole kitchen, fruits and vegetables.  On Create Zine she says this about her work:

“I find it quite hard to define my style. I suppose that working in three dimensions defines my work somehow. I do not like limitations in a particular style, so I love to explore the possibilities of each project and experiment with new solutions. Regardless of the technique I use, I like the simplicity, both in composition, forms and colour.”

More of her work can be viewed on her website, Facebook, Behance and Instagram.
