Ironomori

IronomoriDon’t be surprised if I do repeat postings on this Japanese brand, Ironomori. Really liking their embroidered pins and earrings. Since the last posting on our old blog site, they have created another style that combines original illustration and embroidery. You can follow them on Facebook and purchase their collection on Japanese handmade market sites, Creema, Iichi and Minne.

Kim Wallace Ceramics

Thinking about making ceramic tags for my gift packages this year. The ceramic tags and ornaments shown above are the creation of Australia-based artist, Kim Wallace. Coveting those Australian wildlife designs. Not unlike myself many graphic designers often miss “creating something by hand”. She says this regarding her transition from graphic designer to full time ceramist:

“My professional background is in graphic design (which I love) however after nearly ten years in the industry, working almost exclusively via computer, I found myself missing the process of creating something by hand. As a result I made the decision in 2008 to leave my job as senior designer at a boutique design studio and before long found myself elbow-deep in mud and happier than ever. I haven’t looked back since!”

Admiring the unique rubber stamp collection from UK-based shop, Noollibird. All the stamps are designed and handmade by textile designer and artist, Nula Shearing, who is inspired by patterns, design and textiles. Particularly loving the wrapping paper patterns created with their stamps.
