Barruntando

BarruntandoAnimal lovers will appreciate these miniature ceramic pieces from Spanish company, Barruntando. The company was formed with a group of girls from different areas of Spain all with a common hobby, ceramics. Eyeing the whimsical yarn bowl for myself. Following is their mission statement:

“Our main goal is to provide a small breath of fresh air to the ceramic, resulting in bright and casual designs, handcrafted with raw materials and traditional techniques, one by one; why all our jobs are unique, no two are alike.”

You can follow them here on Facebook and purchase their items here on Etsy.

Tilissimo

TilissimoMy online shopping has not been very successful of late as I am finding more things for myself than for others, typical of the holidays I suppose.  Eyeing these wonderful ceramic tile coasters created by Athens-based artisan, Maya Gencic. The 4 x 4 ceramic tiles are sealed with layers of varnish giving the tiles a painted or inlay look. You can follow her work here on Facebook and purchase her products
here on Etsy under the brand, Tilissimo.

Kim Wallace Ceramics

Thinking about making ceramic tags for my gift packages this year. The ceramic tags and ornaments shown above are the creation of Australia-based artist, Kim Wallace. Coveting those Australian wildlife designs. Not unlike myself many graphic designers often miss “creating something by hand”. She says this regarding her transition from graphic designer to full time ceramist:

“My professional background is in graphic design (which I love) however after nearly ten years in the industry, working almost exclusively via computer, I found myself missing the process of creating something by hand. As a result I made the decision in 2008 to leave my job as senior designer at a boutique design studio and before long found myself elbow-deep in mud and happier than ever. I haven’t looked back since!”
