Gosia Herba

 

We will probably take a look at the works of Polish illustrator, Gosia Herba, again but today we start with her sketches.  The graphic designer and comic artist lives in Wroclaw, a city in southwest Poland.  She is influenced by 10th century modern art, Picasso and Matisse which are evident in much of her compositions.

Malene Hartmann Rasmussen

These ceramic masks are the works of Malene Hartmann Rasmussen, a Danish artist living in London.  Her work has been influenced by folk tales and mythological beings connected to everyday life in pagan Scandinavia.  Her aim is to create a visual poetry based on her own personal story.

Defne Güntürkün

Admiring these embroidered initials created by Istanbul textile designer, Defne Güntürkün, who in recent years taught herself how to embroider.  Her embroidery work is mostly nature-inspired.  She works out of her art studio in a historic district in downtown Istanbul where she designs fabric patterns as a freelancer and runs her small business, Creamente, selling these exquisite embroideries.  You can view more of her work on her website and on Instagram.
