Milo (Milena) Hachim brings her illustration skills to life by transforming her drawings into objects.  She is inspired by everyday life and the love for objects which she illustrates and transforms into clay.  Illustration has always served as a form of expression and as she says on and interview (in Spanish) with Domestika: 

“The illustration has made me lose a little shyness because I am very quiet. It makes it easier for me to speak by drawing.”

Helen Musselwhite

Manchester-based artist Helen Musselwhite is remarkably skilled at paper engineering.  She creates pieces of art by combining hand cutting, folding and scoring using a variety of paper and card.  Much of her work is inspired by the British countryside.  On Creative Boom she says this about her creative process: 

“My process starts with thumbnail sketches that are enlarged to work out layers or structure. Then I make detailed line drawings, which I often colour with marker pens; sometimes at this stage, I make scale models, usually in neutral papers, and particularly with 3D projects to work out construction and depth.”

Joana Rosa Bragança

Joana Rosa Bragança is an artist and prolific illustrator based in Olhão, a town located in the southern part of Portugal.  We will feature her illustrations on a future post but for now we are focusing on these simple and elegant linocut prints she created for a color exhibition in Portugal. Amazing what can be produced with simple shapes, lines and three colors.  On an interview with Post Crossing she says this about her inspiration:

“I get a lot of inspiration from the people I see, not only the people of my hometown, with their strong characters and looks, but also the foreigners who pass by, who are a lot these days. One of my favorite themes is the beach and bathers, and here I have plenty of “models” to observe! Still, not all my characters are inspired by real people, some of them happen to be really bizarre and come directly from my imagination. I also love to draw all sorts of animals and plants.”
