Hard to ignore the beautiful hand-lettered alphabet created by Cleveland-based freelance illustrator and designer, Nicholas Matej. The letters and numbers are his contribution to the 36 Days of Type project. His work is influenced by nostalgia, craft and the desire to push the limits of his own creativity through new ideas. Suzy Taylor

Suzy Taylor is a paper-cut artist based in Hertfordshire, England. With an X-Acto knife and a single sheet of paper she meticulously creates these incredible works of art. Each piece begins as a complete drawing and is then cut from paper over a period of hours or days. Her artwork primarily are often renditions of folk art and natural or floral themes. More of her work can be seen in her Facebook page. She is currently taking a break on her Etsy shop, SuzyTaylorFolkArt.

Caroline Jourdain

Caroline Jourdain from Rouen, France hand sews these exquisite and tactile sewing books, eyeglass bags and pouches. She utilizes sachiko, boro and kantha stitching techniques on a collage of Japanese fabric, Indian block printed cottons, wool and linen. Wish we could tell you more about her background but there is very little information available. However, you can view more of her work in her Etsy shop, Bluesamovar.
