Admiring this new series of embroidered portraits created by Amsterdam-based artist, Petra Wolzak. This series entitled, “Fighting Femalesâ€, honors a group of women who achieved enormous progress for their families, their village, their country, their world. Her colorful portraits are constructed of leather, embroidery thread, wool, and glow-in-the-dark twine. The first of this series features explorers and people of the North and South Poles.
Italy-based illustrator, visual artist, painter and ceramist Glenda Sburelin is the talent behind these intricate illustrations. She works primarily as an illustrator of children’s books having participated in many exhibitions and winning a significant amount of awards for her work. Â
Can’t seem to get enough of the illustrations of Helsinki-based artist and illustrator Antti Kalevi. His images are all created digitally despite their cut-out, paper-like appearance. His inspirations are everywhere and most commonly found through “travelling, food, music and the fine arts”. He says this briefly about his work: Â
“My aim is to create work which displays things at their bare essence–while keeping the poetry.â€
