Yuya Takamizawa

Thinking about trying our hands at paper cutting. These designs are the works of Japanese cutting artist, illustrator and designer Yuya Takamizawa. His work is influenced by folk art from around the world and Scandinavian design. He creates his work at Atelier Folk where he sells paper cutouts, tenugui (cloth towel), and postcards while his wife sells yeast bread and jam. You can view his work on his website and Instagram. Nicholas Matej

Hard to ignore the beautiful hand-lettered alphabet created by Cleveland-based freelance illustrator and designer, Nicholas Matej. The letters and numbers are his contribution to the 36 Days of Type project. His work is influenced by nostalgia, craft and the desire to push the limits of his own creativity through new ideas. Suzy Taylor

Suzy Taylor is a paper-cut artist based in Hertfordshire, England. With an X-Acto knife and a single sheet of paper she meticulously creates these incredible works of art. Each piece begins as a complete drawing and is then cut from paper over a period of hours or days. Her artwork primarily are often renditions of folk art and natural or floral themes.
