While looking for crochet projects we found these circular potholders on the Japanese online store, Uguisu. They are the creation of Belgian textile artist and crafter, Renilde de Peuter, who shares much of her work in her blog, At-Swim-Two-Birds. Color and design elevates these simple utilitarian objects into a product with strong aesthetic appeal.

Thought we would start off the New Year with something green as shown in these letterpress cards and tags from Moontree Press. This small letterpress studio is located in Durham, Pennsylvania presided over by Rebecca Kutys, designer, printer and horticulturist. We love her green images as well as her production core value:
“Minimizing environmental impact is a core value here, and we take great care to keep our carbon footprint minimal. Year by year, we are increasing our commitment to eco-friendly methods of production. With platemaker, guillotine cutter, presses and supporting equipment fully on site, we have eliminated emissions from outsourcing any phase of production. Following production, all letterpress plates and paper scraps are recycled.â€
“Our in-house paper stock is made from 100% recycled, acid-free rag cotton. This stock is tree-free. Any scraps left over from production are saved for year-end holiday tag printing. And scraps less than 1″ are shredded and composted.â€

Resin jewelry is one way to present your artwork in miniature as shown in these brooches sold under the brand, Niki. They are the creations of Japanese illustrator with the pseudo name of Nikiniki. We’ve found very little information about her but you can, however, follow her on Tumbler and here also on Ubies, a creative network site.
