Masu Boxes

OhashiRyokiMasu boxes have been around for over 1300 years and originally used as food measuring cup. Today they are used primarily as sake drinking vessels but can also be used as wooden cases, display boxes or gift boxes. These wooden boxes are produced without nails. They are precisely cut and wedged together using a small amount of glue. The great designs shown above were created by Japanese company, Ohashi Ryoki Ltd., who has been making these boxes for over 60 years.

Tilissimo

TilissimoMy online shopping has not been very successful of late as I am finding more things for myself than for others, typical of the holidays I suppose.  Eyeing these wonderful ceramic tile coasters created by Athens-based artisan, Maya Gencic. The 4 x 4 ceramic tiles are sealed with layers of varnish giving the tiles a painted or inlay look. You can follow her work here on Facebook and purchase her products
here on Etsy under the brand, Tilissimo.

Therese Sennerholt

ThereseSennerholtFinding lots of items for wall hangings but I’m running out of walls.  Really liking these monochrome designs from Stockholm-based artist, Therese Sennerholt. She creates graphic prints with new and old quotations, some of which were found and some written by the artist herself. Her collection also includes photographs and patterned prints. You can purchase her prints here at her shop. Good news! They ship worldwide.
