Antti Kalevi

Can’t seem to get enough of the illustrations of Helsinki-based artist and illustrator Antti Kalevi. His images are all created digitally despite their cut-out, paper-like appearance. His inspirations are everywhere and most commonly found through “travelling, food, music and the fine arts”.  He says this briefly about his work:

“My aim is to create work which displays things at their bare essence–while keeping the poetry.”

More of his work can be seen on his website, Facebook and Instagram.

Raku Inoue

Admiring this series of handmade insect collages created by Montrial-based illustrator, artist and designer, Raku Inoue.  The artist created his “Natura Insects” series with seasonal materials influenced by one of the principles of Ikebana to use materials that are abundant and at hand. On Treehugger he explains his work as follows:

“But especially for this type of work, the goal is to not overthink, to try to create in a very natural way. When I work with different publicity agencies, they often have a specific direction that they want me to take. So I just came up with this exercise to make me to be more apt to create in a more spontaneous way. Often the best work is done when going with the flow.”

More of his work can be seen on Behance and Instagram.
