Erin Paisley is a mother of two who is a Milwaukee sculptor, illustrator, designer and crafter. This is how she describes herself in her Etsy shop:

“I have no degrees, I teach myself how to do everything by reading instructions multiple times, very slowly and very carefully…or else by trial and error.
When I sit down to draw, I have a big eraser by my side.
I can’t keep a sketch book, and I’m terrible at planning things out. I pretty much just belly flop into everything I do and hope for the best (I was never very good at diving either..)
I hope you enjoy my pictures, they come from a place I’ve gone since I was a child….where? I’m not sure, but it’s fueled by music and a mood, and comes from my heart. I usually don’t know what my drawings will be until they have already shown themselves on the paper.”

“I’ve recently become most enthralled with Ceramics, taking my paintings to functional level. Everything is handmade in my studio. All ceramics are hand painted in my signature style using layers of underglaze and over glazes, then fired in my home studio kiln to be fully functional and food safe(although the dishes are all original art pieces and will be perfectly at home hanging on a wall).”

Mariana & Paula Moreno

Found these great handmade stationery sets on the Etsy shop, Ciaffi. They are created by two
very talented sisters from Argentina, Mariana and Paula Moreno. Ciaffa is one of four shops they own on Etsy where they sell handmade paper goods like notebooks and mini stationery sets often made from recycled and rubber stamp papers. We love the design on the very top of this page made from sewing pattern papers. Both sisters graduated in Architecture at the University of Buenos Aires and have since dedicated themselves to designing and producing their own crafts of macrame, hand knitting, stain glass and paper goods.

Natasha Newton

Admiring these elegantly and minimally painted stones created by UK-based illustrator, Natasha Newton. The artist meticulously chooses the precise nature images and intricate patterned designs that compliment the particular shape, color, and natural markings of the stone. On an interview with Pikaland she says this about her thought process and inspirations:

“I get ideas all the time, and often at odd times when I’m least expecting them. They seem to appear from nowhere, but of course this can’t be true. I try to jot down a few written notes on paper as soon as I can, just so I won’t forget the general idea or initial thoughts, and sometimes I’ll make rough sketches too. I don’t tend to work on incredibly detailed preliminary sketches though, preferring just to have an idea of the composition and allowing the piece to develop as I’m working on it.”

“Nature, books (I collect art and design books, as well as unusual children’s storybooks), the changing seasons, trees and forests, bonfires and full moons, other artists, Scandinavian design (I desperately want to visit Norway and Sweden), love, and of course birds.”
