Found this unique illustrated fabric book in the archives of the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA), New York. The English translation of the title is “Ode to Forgettingâ€. The pages are composed of fabric collages and embroidery of linen hand towels from the artist’s wedding trousseau. The French artist and creator of the book, Louise Bourgeoise (1911-2010), used art as a form of purification and as she puts it, “Art is a guarantee of sanity.â€
