Amber Cowan

Philadelphia-based artist and educator Amber Cowan is the creator of these extraordinary sculptures made out of recycled pressed glass. The glass used is generally sought through thrift stores, flea markets and post-production factory runs. She frameworks, blows and hot sculpts the glass into folkloric scenes of leaves, flowers, animals and human figures.

More of her work can be seen on her website and Instagram.

Stewart Francis Easton

Sorry for the lack of posts of late.  If you have ever had a frozen shoulder you will know how excrutiating the pain in your arm and back can be.  To date still not 100%.

Stewart Francis Easton is a British artist whose work focuses on craft, illustration and fine art.  His approach to embroidery is abstract modern based on tradition and rituals applying folk song, story and social history.  He has received an MA in illustration and animation and has had a number of solo and group shows in the UK and USA.  He writes this about himself:

” I draw. I sew. I ride a push bike and I like Clarks shoes.”

You can view more of his work on his website and on Instagram.

Muravito

Weaving is one of the crafts we have interest in but never seem to attempt so we leave it to experts like Mariana Muravito.  The artist is a visual communicator, graphic, textile designer and weaver based in Mallorca. She spends much of her time researching and learning traditional embroidery and weaving techniques applying them into these exquisite Muravito creations.

You can see more of her work on her website, Facebook and Instagram.  Her woven jewelry can be purchased in her Etsy shop.
