Jemima Fisher

jemimafisherThese unique collectable sock sculptures are the creations of textile and mixed media artist, Jemima Fisher. The UK-based designer makes these one-off pieces mostly out of socks with some wire, paper mache and recycled items. These quirkey art dolls with attitude are sold under the brand name, Socktacular Creations.

Maillo Design

mailloVeroniqué Damart is a French textile and graphic designer with business experience in children’s high-end fashion. Living with her seamstress mother she showed a propensity for knitting, crochet, macramé, weaving and braiding. With her fashion training and personal background she launched Maillo Design, her “laboratory of textile design and poetic objects’. Her line consists of handmade baskets, decorative bottles, lampshades and accessories made with tinted vintage doilies.

Mika Hirasa

mikahirasaAttracted to the unique artisan style of Japanese illustrator and embroidery artist, Mika Hirasa, who freelances under the name, “Micao”. She draws pictures using a combination of machine sewing, hand embroidery, applique and fabric painting, all of which were self-taught. Her work ranges from advertisement for major companies to cover art for books and magazines, and even collaborative works with a household goods manufacturer.
