Louise Bourgeoise (1911-2010)

LouiseBourgeoisFound this unique illustrated fabric book in the archives of the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA), New York. The English translation of the title is “Ode to Forgetting”. The pages are composed of fabric collages and embroidery of linen hand towels from the artist’s wedding trousseau. The French artist and creator of the book, Louise Bourgeoise (1911-2010), used art as a form of purification and as she puts it, “Art is a guarantee of sanity.”

InHausPressIn Haus Press is a letterpress brand of paper goods based out of San Francisco. Company was founded by printer and designer, Treasa Ewing. Their product line are a mix of original hand-drawn typography and historic wood type combined to create pieces that represent their minimalist style.
