Block Shop

BlockShopTextilesHave to credit my niece, Drea, for this find. Block Shop is a Los Angeles base textile company founded by sisters Hopie and Lily Stockman. Their scarves are hand printed by master printers in Bagru, India. Here’s what the sisters say about their process and mission statement:

“We carve our wooden blocks by hand, we print by hand, we dye by hand. The same way it’s been done in Bagru for 350 years. Subtle imperfections mean that no two scarves are alike. By purchasing Block Shop scarves not only are you supporting our community of block carvers, dye mixers, master printers, and seamstresses, but you are ensuring the environmentally-sustainable future of an ancient textile tradition.”

“Our mission is to make the most luxurious handcrafted textiles while upholding the highest ethical standards in every step of our process.”
