We love the illustrations of Polish illustrator Gosia Herba but weâ€™re focusing today on her sketches for her simplicity in approach and her unusual angular proportions. On an interview with Eye on Design (AIGA) she says this about her work:
â€œIllustration is my whole life,â€ she states. â€œI know that sounds banal, but itâ€™s true. I draw everyday. I wake up atÂ 8:30Â a.m. and atÂ 9:00 a.m.Â I start my work. My day usually ends atÂ 8:00 p.m., though sometimes I work untilÂ midnight.â€
â€œExperiments with media are an important stage of my work process. Each technique influences the style and character of the image. My favorite medium is gouache paint. I like its velvet-like color,â€ Herba explains. â€œI also use ink, paper cut-outs, and Ecoline. When working on illustration for magazines, I often use a graphic tablet.â€
