Wouldn’t at all mind spending a few months in Cyprus to attend the workshops of weaver, Julia Astreou-Christoforou. The Nicosia-based textile designer specializes in woven textiles particularly traditional Cypriot weaving.  Tradition and history permeates  all her work bringing the past into the present.

Muravito

Weaving is one of the crafts we have interest in but never seem to attempt so we leave it to experts like Mariana Muravito.  The artist is a visual communicator, graphic, textile designer and weaver based in Mallorca. She spends much of her time researching and learning traditional embroidery and weaving techniques applying them into these exquisite Muravito creations.

Luisa Cevese & Wallace Sewell

Found these great Luisa Cevese accessories at Wallace Sewell, a UK-based design studio and shop. The two companies collaborated on these products combining textile scraps with plastic, the fundamental principle of Riedizioni by Luisa Cevese designs. Some of the bags and ribbons are available here at Wallace Sewell shop.
