Hawaii-born artist Alison Moritsugu uses log segments as canvas for these idealized landscape paintings. The salvaged wood used for her “log-series” are found timber that would otherwise be turned to mulch. Her work acknowledges our complicated and delicate relationship with the environment.

The company has brought together prestige designers of Japan to produce a product line that marries traditional crafts with modern sensibilities.
